  Merle was the poet that sang about the life he lived from his heart to the listener. Pure heartfelt country music at its best!

  IT IS NOT LIKELY WE WILL EVER HAVE THE PRESENCE OF SOMEONE LIKE MERLE HAGGARD SO ENJOY THE GREAT MUSIC HE LEFT US I KNOW I DO EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  The great thing about Haggard and what makes him my favourite is that he is telling his personal life story. It's so powerful.

  He was such a cool cucumber when he knew he was ON and knew exactly how important it was for his fans to see him this way.  Now, I know he had moments that he battled with insecurity, paranoia, and some other things that almost all of us humans fall victim to.  My sincere hope is that at the end of his life, he had a moment of clarity and finally allowed himself to recognize just how great and how important he was!  Peace to his memory.  His music and the love/respect of music that he had and passed on to others, will live forever!
