  Vidkun Quisling was a major in the Norwegian army, and he had also served as the Minister of Defence in Norway, from May 1931 to March 1933, and probably knew a lot about how the Norwegian defence worked. His eternal infamy is well deserved.

  In 1960's French High School in Quebec,  we had a Brtitish English teacher who told us all about Quisling, a Belgian chemistry teacher who told us about Degrelle, and a general admiration for DeGaulle and contempt for Pétain but  DeGaulle also got all other Canadians pissed off for vouching for Quebec independence.
