The Buddha's teachings continue to amaze me. Over 2,500 years later, they still describe the human mind more accurately than most modern self-help advice.

One thing that really stayed with me is this: most of the time, I'm not reacting to what happened, I'm reacting to the story my mind built around what happened.

Seeing that difference doesn't make life easier overnight, but it does make freedom feel possible.

When I meditate and stop thinking, just feeling the breath and listening to noises, it feels right but I get sleepy very soon. It always happens this way

Excellent exposition of how the process unfolds! I recently caught myself running episode after episode of an incident and how I would respond the next time. Catching it is half the cure, it seems, but catching it before it gets going is more difficult than it sounds... Thank you for the continued insights from the Buddha's teachings.🙏🙏🙏

I’m very grateful for this. It is relieving. On the other hand there remains a wuestion: if this works this way, is is their any meaning or sense in thinking things through?
