The most powerful takeaway: suffering is not a punishment, it's a teacher pointing us toward what we're still clinging to.

Why do we come to this world?
What are we supposed to do after we arrive?

Look at ordinary people, those in the six realms of existence, who take this body as themselves, as "I."
Their thoughts, words, and actions are all geared towards serving this "I."
They don't realize that this "I" is illusory, not real; it is subject to birth and death.

In Buddhism, birth and death are considered illusory, not real.
How do we distinguish between truth and falsehood in Buddhism?
The unborn and undying is real; one subject to birth and death is illusory.

Now, after so many years of study, we have gained some understanding of this matter. What exactly is this body?
Why do we come to this world?
What are we supposed to do in this life? Scientists have also studied this question. Is there an answer?
There are many different answers, but the Buddha's answer is the most profound and simple: life is the reward for karma.
You cannot control your own life.
Why did you come to this world?
It's retribution.
The causes you created in your past lives are the results you receive in this life. If you cultivated virtue and accumulated merit in your past lives, the reward in this life will be happiness and wealth in the human realm.
If you committed sins, you will suffer in this life.

The causes you created in your past life will produce results in this life; what you do in this life will produce results in the next. What are we doing in this life? What are our thoughts, words, and actions?
If we abandon evil and cultivate good, accumulating merit and virtue, then in the next life we will enjoy blessings in the human and heavenly realms; if we are filled with greed, anger, ignorance, pride, and doubt, and are unkind, unjust, rude, and untrustworthy, then in the next life we will suffer, going to the three lower realms. This is something we must know.
🙏🙏🙏 Amitabha Buddha
