I feel like Applejack's "countryness" really added some faint warm and grounded vibe to the show. Without her, doesn't feel the same anymore :/

Obviously she was just too busy on the farm

I remember this crackfic I once read that had the reason Applejack wasn't in the McDonald's sets was because she was offended by the quality of their apple pies.

She sure is a silly little pony. it's really sad that Hasbro wants to ignore Applejack, she's been in the franchise since the beginning and should be treated with more respect.

And then, they remove her and rarity.

Seeing the shirts “Friends Forever” and “Best friends squad” with no Applejack gives off the same sad vibes as seeing your “friends” post a pic with the caption like “Just hanging with the besties!”

Hard to ignore how Sunny and Applejack share a similar palette, and both are consequently the most ignored ponies of their generation

I'm SO glad they didn't went with unapplejacking applejack idea. Imagine all of the mane 5 + this whole new character instead of AJ.

I Feel so bad for apple jack. She doesn’t deserve this, it’s like how paw patrol ignores zuma the water dog.

Simple answer: Applejack speaks with a Southern accent, these toys are produced in the U.S.A. In most of the US people assume that if you speak with a Southern accent that you're uneducated, prejudiced and dangerous. That Hasbro email literally spelled it out. No matter how many good qualities she has, as long as she says "ain't" and works on a farm, rich Americans will view her as a bad role model and thus, unmarketable.

Applejack has always been my favorite out of the mane 6. She's (obviously) honest, hardworking, straight to the point, and showed little me what it was like to have great loving family bonds when I myself didn't have that. I really wish more people and hasbro could see this...
