Do not underestimate the pain of gas/take Gas-X! I thought my abdominal pain was mostly due to the c-section, but once I started taking Gas-X, the pain started going down a lot faster.

Sneezing is awful. If you feel one coming on start saying pineapples over and over and it will go away. Best tip I ever learned.

Bring a pillow to sit on in the car on the way home from the hospital and for appointments afterward. Those bumpy roads hurt🫠

For mamas with apron bellies: a large pad folded in half tucked under your belly helps keep your incision dry ❤

Mama Nurse Tina was a c-section baby and all the tips/benefits she is talking about are definitely correct. She was the 2nd C-section and the first one did not go well. I had support, I rested, I only lifted her, I took meds on time until I felt really good, I used a pillow when laughing or coughing. All these benefits got me back on track quickly and my mental health was so much better than the first baby. it's just like she was there.🤣🥰

I had a planned c section seven days ago and had a good experience. I didn’t get the shakes, itching or painful trapped gas. Did get really bad constipation after day 4 but only the first time then was fine after that. Recovery is interesting, first two days were hard then it just got easier. I made sure to do a few small walks everyday, keep up with pain meds! Seven days later I’m walking around slowly and getting back to some normality with minimal to zero pain. Just take it slow and be kind to yourself

2 time c section mom here! Definitely ask for gas x in the hospital. I had so much gas pain and if I hadn’t been warned ahead of time I wouldn’t have known what it was. My three must have products are: the Frida Mom c section recovery belt/incision protector, Bodily mesh undies, and Love Wellness Sparkle Fiber supplements. All of these made a huge difference in my recovery.

Just had emergency c-section 9 days ago. The pain is not a joke. Was 42 weeks and had failed induction ended up with emergency c-s. Your videos have been really helpful especially the pillow tips.

Thank you for mentioning that recovery from vaginal birth can be harder. I had a complicated vaginal delivery and get tired of hearing that c-sections are a worse recovery. Recovery after shoulder dystocia, a 3rd degree tear, and a precipitous birth was horrendous and literally took years to resolve my pain. Having a scheduled c-section in a few weeks and really looking forward to a hopefully easier, quicker, and smoother birth and postpartum! This video was very timely. 😊

The gum thing makes so much sense now 😂 I thought the nurse was giving me a small gift or something cause I was knocked out of whatever they had me on

Chew gum to get discharged earlier?? Are you crazy? lol I'm looking for ways to prolong my stay, not shorten it! They already kick you out the absolute first second they can! My mom said back in the eighties they kept women for like a week! I'll take all the extra support and care I can get, thank you! (At least knowing this, I can avoid chewing gum if it's offered to me! 😂)
