  I was a kid ( about 5-6 yrs ) when Cherobyl happened.. in Germany. I can remember we got brought back home from school by military transporters.. was fun to us. But the &quot;don&apos;t play outside&quot; was hard for us back in the days

  This April marks 40th anniversary of Chernobyl disaster. I was 12 years old when Chernobyl disaster occurred. I still remember all those events as if it happened yesterday 😔 Thank you for watching and reacting to these miniseries. Great reaction, as always 👏💯

  The three men who volunteered to drain the bubbler pools (believing they were going to their deaths) saved more than 60 million people. If they hadn&apos;t done that (and if no one else came forward if they died before reaching the valve), most of Europe would now be unhabitable, and effects such as cancer rates and some degree of contamination would have spread round the whole world. The names of those 3 men should be remembered by everyone. Alexei Ananenko, Valeri Bespalov and Boris Baranov. As should all of the incredibly courageous normal Ukrainian, Belarussian (and other) citizens who gave their lives or risked so much. They all helped prevent an even greater disaster.<br><br>I was 26 when this happened, with a 4-year old. I remember how we were all following the news for information on where the radiation &apos;cloud&apos; was. Land in parts of north Wales, northern England, and Scotland were affected by fallout, and crops, meat, and milk from contaminated land had to be destroyed. But oh boy, it could have been so much worse. We owe those people so much.

  Watching this totally brings out the fear I felt when this happened, I was like 12 years old at the time but the Chernobyl incident is lodged firmly in my mind - I remember it clearly.... this show totally nails it.. which is why I hate this show as much as I love it - it&apos;s a hard watch :)

  The was some exaggerations in the movie, but it showed more or less true. For example miners: they worked in underwear and scene with minister of coal was fictional. And helicopter crashed because the smoke was to dense and pilot hit the crane next to construction side but not because of radiation. And Lyudmila got big dose of radiation in the first episode, when she went outside, but not because of hugging her husband at the hospital.

  The soundtrack is amazing. It adds tension to the screenplay. The industrial sounds, high frequency tones, machinery, motors, were recorded at a sister nuclear plant in Latvia. <br>Solid reaction.

  Hey Marley, what a great series unfortunately made from a real event. I was about 8 years old when this happened I remember hearing talk about a radioactive cloud on the news. I remember being outside looking up at the sky and wondering if I could see the &quot;cloud&quot;obviously now as an adult thinking back on it, that&apos;s kind of silly but as an 8-year-old I was pretty scared.
