I don’t get why people take it so tough when you bag on crappy cities. I’m from Modesto and you absolutely nailed it.

I grew up in Fresno in the 70’s and 80’s. The F-14’s tags were everywhere. Then Bulldog jerseys everywhere. Back then we had South side.. The ghetto. East side.. also a ghetto, but that was where it was at for cruisin… Gun shots everywhere at night. The high schools are huge and the gangs wouldn’t mix. Cops at school daily. Fights, drive byes. This was the 80’s. Fresno was the Murder capital of California. Gang wars spilling up from LA. This was the height of the bloods and the crips reign of terror. Crack was an epidemic. Crazy times growing up in Fresno in the 80’s. But it really does have some great areas. When I go back, good memories!

"If someone tells you they're a fresno bulldog you'll probably laugh in his face" ...Tell me you never been to fresno without actually saying you never been to fresno

Growing up in Sanger, there were so many conflicts between Norteños, Sureños, and Bulldogs. Norteños and Sureños typically would be civil in most public places, but Bulldogs would start shit with everybody anytime, anywhere. I remember a lot of these conflicts that you’re talking about in this video. Now I live the heart of Fresno, and it’s hard to sleep at night without the sound of the ghetto bird flying overhead shining it’s spotlight down in our neighborhood. The Fresno lullaby.

Surenos and fresnortes usually have the decency to act normal in public but you can tell a bulldog by just looking at them and how they act

Fresno is rapidly becoming a big city. Lot more money here than people might think

I'm going on 68, born and raised in Fresno, never lived north of Dakota Ave and lived on the west side when I was younger. Always be careful who you associate with, watch out for bad neighborhoods and what time you're out and you'll be fine.

Born and raised in Fresno. I moved to Clovis for 20 years then I left for the Bay Area because of the depressed economy. I am a proud supporter of the Fresno State Bulldogs but I couldn’t wear any Bulldog gear at school growing up.

This video is pretty accurate. I went to school with a bunch of dudes from Pinedale (the Dale Boys). North Fresno and Clovis are nice communities but most of Fresno is pretty sad.

Their are Asian gangs that are Hmong. Most of the Hmong people are awesome, hard working people. They are great farmers and are super smart. The smartest kids in my elementary school classes was always Hmong. They suffered a lot in their journey to America but when they got to Fresno (and Minnesota) they revolutionized farming techniques. They produce more per acre than traditional American farms. A lot of the younger generation didn’t want to farm and some of them formed gangs, although many more went to college and become professionals and leaders in the Fresno area.

The Fresno area has some really great diverse communities. It has large Armenian, Portuguese, Italian, and central and southern American communities. The great farm lands has been a desirable location for them for hundreds of years.

The problem with the area is the drugs and a depressed economy. Regardless of it’s faults, there is a true sense of community. If the local leaders ever worked together to solve the major problems, it would be a great place to live, as long as you have an air conditioner and a pool. Also, it’s not hot in February, it gets below freezing and it has thick fog called Tule fog.

I miss and really do love the place. I just can’t make the same amount of money I can in the Bay Area, which actually has more problems than Fresno. Peace

I got all my tatts done by a bulldog when I was in the penn back in 2012 and I was also taught how to tattoo by him. I've been making a damn good living ever since.
