I really like this new type of video. One where an older, new in the box, item gets unboxed. Its an extra layer of intrigue.

Well done Eric

I can't be the only person who saw 26 years old and thought wow, a model from the 70s!

Electric! Your first Century Club locomotive! I can’t believe you’re trying to get all the vision models of the GG1.

Eric, thank goodness that battery didn’t ruin that beautiful old locomotive.

Eric, when you opened that box up you must have felt as Howard Carter did when he opened King Tut's tomb!
"What do you see?" "WONDERFUL things!" 🤩
Some hard-core collectors might have said "Leave it in the plastic wrapped box!" but what fun would that be? Like the Springsteen song says it was "Born to run!"
Thanks for sharing it with us!

The irony about the idea that ‘Pulmor’ motors were being used for nostalgia is that Lionel didn’t use the term in the postwar era. Pullmor was an American Flyer marketing term for their engineering response to Magne Traction (rubber traction tires). If you look at the Lionel catalog image at 20:35 they refer to this style of AC open frame motor as the Lionel Direct Worm-Drive Motor.

Gandy Dancers permanently closed around late 2005 or early 2006 just before you began building the AWRX layout.
