  I came from nothing, both parents were high school dropouts. I married into a family of highly educated people, professors, people in the arts, lawyers, Ph.Ds. I became one of them through hard work and got into academia. Having lived in both worlds, I&apos;ve become cynical of intellectuals. Some of the most intelligent people I&apos;ve ever known were not formally educated. They were often better read than the intellectuals, able to speak on a wide range of subjects, able to make connections between different fields and get a big picture. People with elite degrees are often hoop jumpers who got through their grad programs but didn&apos;t learn much outside their fields--and often only learn the biases of their mentors. They become arrogant because their academic pedigree validates their feelings of superiority. They don&apos;t think they need to learn much through hard work and the academy often kills their intellectual curiosity. The attitude is, &quot;I have a degree from an elite university or a Ph.D., that qualifies me to pontificate on any field with authority.&quot; <br><br>Can&apos;t tell you how many of the intellectual class I&apos;ve known who would believe exactly what they were told by media without a hint of skepticism. They are very easily fooled. They think that anyone who believes differently from them must be wrong because they are the elite. If a fellow elite believes differently, the attitude is, &quot;How can you believe that, why you&apos;re educated!&quot; My father in law berates my wife this way. If he could only hear himself with objectivity, this intellectual fraud with his multiple graduate degrees, whose intellectual curiosity died decades ago.

  I used to be a Domestic Violence Treatment provider. &nbsp;This story is tragically common. &nbsp;You CAN learn the red flag warnings and how the con job is usually conducted. &nbsp;The comparison to how a cult works is spot on.

  Example: &nbsp;proof highly educated people believe ridiculous policies: you &nbsp;need to get the covid vaccine in order to protect others? Young healthy people are at same risk of COVID than a 80 yr old? Or wear a mask all day at work, then take it off at lunch while eating to prevent covid? The stupidity is astounding. You don&apos;t need to be a scientist to know this yet all highly educated people were the tyrants during covid and complied with all the ridiculous policies that made no sense. ( A plexi glass in front of my desk that only covered my face despite COVID being a airborne virus.) 🤦

  Good point that Sarma made; instead of love-bombing her, he &quot;validation bombed&quot; her. &nbsp;Manipulators know exactly how to find a person&apos;s vulnerable place to get in.
