Ultima Underworld 1 and 2 were my JAM back in the 90s and early 2000s. Still love playing them today with the GOG versions

Eye of the Beholder I & II + Strahd's Possession were obsessions of mine when I was younger.

When I saw the title, I knew Ultima VII and Ultima Underworld would be on the list. They were truly impressive for their time.

It's a bit unfair to say Westwood proved their skill with RPGs with Lands of Lore - that game basically builds on what they already did with the two first Eye of the Beholder games, as early as two years prior.

I to this day still love the charm of DoS games. I really enjoyed playing both of the Dark Sun RPG's. Really great music and graphics.

Owning a MT32 was a big bonus, I'm still using mine to play the soundtrack of Ultima Underworld for example

Betrayal At Krondor is another great RPG masterpiece of the 1990s but was not mentioned here.

Anvil of Dawn looks fantastic. It's amazing what they could pull off with limited resources back then.
