My favourite part about the Pocketcat is he has all the boxes of being a Tumblr Sexyman checked (animal head, suit, elegant way of talking, fourth wall breaks) but it's counteracted by the fact he abducts kids.

I think Daan was able to be possessed by Pocketcat because it's how he sees himself. Children who are preyed upon sometimes grow into predators as a result of their abuse. Not all, but some. Daan was a child who did not grow into a predator, but who's worst fear was becoming one. Believing a child predator is who he truly was inside means his moonscorched form is Pocketcat. Pocketcat didn't even need to exist beforehand and Daan would have moonscorched into him.

My guess as to why moon god won't let his followers interfere:
He believes humans are horrible, and he want to expose humans with his light to prove it. Using his followers to alter events to make humans more horrible defeats the point, since then he will be the one responsible for humans being horrible. Influencing with words is fine because at the end, the human made the choice

A full HOUR of Pocketcat? Time to keep your one good eye on your local physician and hide your kids.

In the nightclub, there’s dialogue where Daan offers to take Olivia to a club sometime and she says yes. Sounds like he kept his promise, just not in the way she, or maybe they might have envisioned originally.

you know whats specially mess up about Daan been groomed into becoming pocked cat?
is that Daan for all we know seem to be very protective of children as we can see in him refusing to give Marina alcohol by not knowing she is of legal age.

I like the idea that Rher is trying to protect humanity and thus uses numerous employees and public events to do just that.

I love how if you read Pocketcat's mind while fighting him, he knows and responds to it

Rher as a protector seems scary somehow. He is so open about his distrust of humans that seeing him as non malevolent just strikes me as weird.
