  40 years of living with a narcissist and I still struggle with keeping myself calm while he sits and watches me rage. And his new thing is calling me the narcissist ( As if he would ever study and even find out what it means ) I've tried the silent treatment but it doesn't work for long, because I have no friends and I eventually need human interaction. I've found the victory in the advice that is given in this video. I speak the golden words, then quietly grab my headphones and listen to calming music to fill the void to help me take my mind off of the moment. There are those times that I still give him his treasured narcissistic supply, but I'm more patient with myself these days. And I've finally built up the courage to say I'm leaving.

  This is the best explanation of narcissism that I've ever heard of seen. After 5 years of a relationship with a narcissist,I'd had enough. I disarmed him and exposed him  by outlining my plan calmly in front of a group of friends. It worked brilliantly and gave me back the power. Thank you....spot on!.

  I really appreciate your deep insight and teaching on narcissism.  I had no idea what a narcissist even was until I was the victim of a very public narcissist rage.  Through counseling, I learned about these behaviors  and their aftermath.  It was then I realized that was the second rage I had been s victim of from the same person.   I knew I was deeply hurt the first time, but still had not a clue what it all meant.  Recently, I’ve realized there are two narcissists in my family, one a sibling, the other an in-law, and they are ‘best friends’.  One is covert, the other overt, and I’m their target, simply because by nature, I’m an easy target (and possibly the biggest empath in the family)!  I’m not totally healed but with counseling, I’m well on my way.  Your podcasts have been a tremendous help.  Thank you for sharing with all of us who appreciate your knowledge and benefit from the validation and boost they are.  I would love to hear your insight into how best to deal with family members who work together.  If there already is a teaching on this, please share the link.

  Wife labels her husband as a narcissist, husband caregiver for 25 years as a caregiver, so much stress and hard, totally bedridden wife.<br>God so tired in this situation.

  I had been texted by my sister “ flying monkey “ and she tried these tactics with me ! I followed these procedures and put a red flag in her mind ! &nbsp;I’m stronger and I have learnt ! lol I even sent her this info to listen to !
