  To answer your Dragon Ball question about Beerus, he does wipe the floor with Goku in Battle of the Gods, and even defeated Goku in Super Sayian god form, and he’s been shown to destroy planets just for the heck of it. He just chooses not to because he wants to enjoy some good food and sleep which I think we can all relate to but he also almost gets punished for it by Zeno in Dragon Ball Super because he wasn’t doing his job as a destroyer and being lazy.

  It&apos;s Liu Kang, with Raiden as his mentor/teacher. Liu Kang is the Luke Skywalker of MK and Raiden is his Yoda. Like Luke, Liu Kang eventually ascends to Raiden&apos;s level and becomes the new master, but he&apos;s still the hero. 616!

  Liu Kang has the belt. Even though Raiden gave up his godhood (gimmick/finisher) to Liu, He just served to go ahead and retire. So Liu Kang is the Hero and Champion. 616!

  Honestly, this was a very good discussion on one of MK’s biggest questions. With all the factors you just mentioned, Ian, it really is hard to determine the true sole hero of this franchise. Because while Liu Kang has been the one to save Earthrealm countless times, so has Raiden, and you can argue that without them together, Earthrealm would’ve been lost for sure on many occasions. Without Raiden’s guidance and assistance, Liu Kang probably wouldn’t have had the full confidence to win the whole tournament (I’m just speculating since before MK9 or arguably even before the first movie, we didn’t see how each fighter reacted to the tournament’s progression as it went along). And while Liu Kang is a Fire God now, that wouldn’t have been possible without Raiden once again, so honestly, it truly is hard to determine which one of these two deserves the honor of True Hero of Mortal Kombat. I know my answer will seem like a copout, but I’m gonna say both in this case. Because without either one of them, Earthrealm would’ve been lost many years ago, before anybody of the next generation would even come along. Great discussion, Ian! You should definitely do more of these in the future! 616!

  True Hero of Mortal Kombat is definitely Liu Kang. This man was so tough he ran through the first 4 Tournaments (the writing took him out of the story for an era)<br><br>From his feats, to his skill, or even his heroic qualities, he’s the chosen one for a reason. And even when he was ALL POWERFUL (creating the universe) he still allowed his 2 greatest adversaries to exist in hopes they would choose a different/peaceful life moving forward (Shang Tsung, and Shao Khan). That’s heroic right there imo 616!

  I&apos;m surprised to see Raiden being mentioned this much after his epic - though well-intentioned - mistakes of MK9. That said, Liu Kang is the hero.
