For Brazilian standads, that was CRAZY expensive. Only rich people in Brazil would even consider spend that much on a child birth. As she mentioned in the video, you can have the same quality of work for a lot less in Brazil, but it won't be as fancy (you won't have the nice view, e.g.). But of course, if you have that kind of money and you are looking for the best, then go for it. My point is, you can still find much better prices in Brazil than that.

I'm Brazilian, and I don't know if most doctors are internationally trained.
In the vast majority of cases, the doctor who works on SUS (the public healthcare system) is the same one who works in the private sector.
I know this because I was going to pay for septoplasty, but I decided to have it done on SUS, and coincidentally, I was operated by the same doctor I intended to pay for the surgery. This happens because most doctors work simultaneously in the public and private sectors.
And we have excellent medical schools, both public and private. There's no need for international training to deliver high-quality service.

Just remembering, if you wanted to do it free you could too. All our doctors are great not only the ones that choose private hospitals. Healthcare is a human right here. Many people come here to give birth. And of course, every baby is a citizen

Brasilian here, I honestly think that service was overpriced, you could probably get the same for a third of the price. But in the end, what matters is that everything went alwright.

One thing I like about the brazilian private practice is that one can simply book an appointment with any specialist without needing a referral.

I'm not questioning your choice to have a elective C-Section, but as a nurse who works in a public obstetric hospital that specialises in natural births I wood like to point to all the women who consider delivering their babys in Brazil that it is a great place for for natural biths as well. I would say is even better then the C-Section experience. Despite the open mindedness about C-Sections, Brazil really defends the high quality natural births, breastfeeding and the reduction of formula use. It's a quite beautiful experience for those who wish it, especially if you decide to do it in specialised hospitals like the one I work.

Considering the type of attention and care you got, the quality of service, the number of professionals involved and how skilled they are, I agree with you, it is a good and fair amount. There are other options for different budgets, for sure, but is fair to pay a fair price when you want special treatment. How many women in the world can have this kind of freedom to choose and have everything as their wish? Of course it has a cost. Funny to think that if it was a plastic surgery no one was questioning the price, maybe in the opposite direction, saying it may was not trustworthy because it was "too cheap". But to pay high skill professionals, a whole team of them, for such important moment as the birth of your child, to have the wonderful moment/birth you had, many people says it is "overpriced".
