  I was a pharmacy tech for years living in the Seattle area.  I worked my ass off my whole life and pinched pennies,  did everything right.  But Seattle is an expensive place to live, so I put everything I had to buy a home.   I did get a house and still have a mortgage and owe $69,000 on it.  Then I got injured and could not work.  At 45 years old had to go on SS disability at $940 a month.  Even if you still work hard one car crash can distroy your life.

  As a 54 yr old guy I cannot stress enough to young people PLEASE max out your Roth IRAs when you are young. Do whatever you have to to pay that BILL first. Live at home at long as possible. Get your associates from a community college and the bachelors at the local U and stay home. When you are 55-60 you can walk into work and whenever you want tell them to SHOVE it and never work again. DO IT!
