As a Spaniard it warms my heart to see people literally crossing an ocean for our Northern food. I mean, paella and salmorejo are nice - but the best food in Spain is located in the North of Spain. Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and Basque Country are the Mecca of any foodie out there. It truly is the best food in the world!

I have been to SS 3 times and it's honestly my favorite place to eat. I credit Bourdain for saving our marriage because after I made hubby watch the SS episode of No Reservations, he was motivated to get over his fear of flying with so many treatment modalities so we could make the international flight out there. Luckily for you guys, you are going on the off-season. People are so much nicer there when they aren't so busy. So to anyone reading this - I know the beaches along the Med are great, but trust me, if you travel for food, go on the off-season. It's rainy, but you get more of the local hospitality and the food they create is pure art.

I fell in love with Spanish food because of my Spanish language teacher from Spain and Anthony Bourdain. Spanish food is awesome because its high quality ingredients and delicious simplicity.

Such a good overview of how varied eating in San Sebastián can be — pintxos bars, txuleta, seafood and fine dining all belong to the same food culture, but they each have their own rhythm. One tip for anyone planning a trip: don’t try to order everything at the first bar. Start light, move around, and save room for the places that cook dishes to order.

OMG Casa Julian! The steaks looked incredible, also the asparagus. I would definitely go there. My sisters recently went to Spain and they took so many awesome food photos.
