Why Do Gacha Games Shut Down after Collabing with Persona 5?

  My theory is this, a lot of games that Collab with Persona 5 are games that have been struggling, so they make that collab as a safe last attempt to get some revenue which does work but that doesn't solve any of the problems of why the game was struggling so the collab extends the lifespan of the game but because the issues are still there the people keepps leaving the game so it dies even if the collab manged to extend teh game's lifespan.

  Identity V has managed to survive 4 separate Persona 5 collabs, with the original P5 part one collab in August 2019 featuring Joker, Panther, Skull and Fox plus a Morgana pet, part 2 in November 2019 with Queen, Oracle, Noir and Crow. The collabs included the phantom thieves outfits, their school outfits, weapons as accessories and graffiti plus room posters.<br><br>Both parts of the crossover returned November 2024 along with a new mini Royal related crossover, including a free Kasumi school skin that you could upgrade with real money into her Violet outfit.<br><br>Perhaps it has only survived by barely being a gacha game, the only gacha is for costumes and getting to play the new character a week before everyone else? I would love to see you react to it however if you consider it gacha enough!

  All of these games were already on their last legs when the Persona collab arrived; they only survived longer precisely because of the collab.
