I have seen old vices getting restored before. The screws attaching the faces are almost always ruined and are subsequently replaced. If I was following right, you used the original screws on reassembly. That's impressive. Also, other restorations spent a lot more time making the device look pretty. Filing, sanding, and shaping the casting to make it smooth. You removed the casting flash, but that was about all. I kinda liked that. The device was restored to fully workable condition, but how attractive does a vice need to be? As much as I enjoyed the other videos, your end results are something I could see using in my own shop. To me, that's the highest praise.

great video! I like the fact that you did a restoration without all the fuss of trying to polish parts, just a good clean down and casting marks removed.
