Why Farmers Can’t Stop Talking About This Breed Of Cattle

In this video, we take you inside the 2025 South Poll Field Day at Heifer Ranch, where more than 500 farmers gathered to explore a regenerative agriculture approach to raising cattle. Through conversations with Teddy Gentry, the founder of the South Poll cattle breed, grazing educator Greg Judy, and rancher Steve Freeman, we reveal why selecting cattle that fit their environment leads to better fertility, longevity, and true profitability. Instead of chasing bigger cows or high-input systems, this discussion focuses on calm temperament, adaptability, and regenerative grazing practices that reduce costs and support sustainable livestock. Whether you're in hot, humid regions or colder climates, these insights show how thoughtful cattle selection can transform both your land and your operation. Want to know when our next event is?
