Third generation cow calf operation here. Not In a hundred years have we experienced these big "risks" described. If you're selling commodities , and the power goes out. Or internet down. How can you sell.??? Power goes out here twenty times a year... in my mind , commodities are infinitely more risky. If you don't hold it , you don't own it.

It is much cheaper to do laundry if you have a washing machine at home...... if you can scrape up the cash for a washing machine. Absurd I know, but it is the same principle no matter what the scale.

So he has 2 LLCs and sells his heifers to himself for this to work? In my area even the bred cows go to butcher, the calf and fetal blood is used in the fake meat and offal I assume.

I southern delaware we have very few cattle producers so we have a long wait list for customers to purchase whole or halfs we run 100 head and finish out about 30 head a year but we dont have a sale barn within a 2 hour drive. So i guess its really just about your market.
