  I'd like to suggest you feature stories from Maryland 's Eastern Shore.  There are ghost lights, haunted bridges, monster infested swamps, and the Underground Railroad.

  i was walking the streets of baltimore one day and i came across a plaque that said here is where edgar allen poe was found before being taken to the hospital and it gave the whole story you gave

  I had a weird experience in Delmar, a town that is split between Maryland and Delaware. About 8 years ago, my older brother and I were driving to a nearby gas station called Wawa to fill up the car. My brother was driving and I was in the passenger seat. As we were pulling into the station I saw a black cat that was running across the road, which is odd in itself because the station is on a pretty busy highway and I&apos;ve gone to that station for years and have never seen a cat anywhere near there before, or afterwards to this day. Yet as I was watching this cat run across the road–it got about halfway across, when suddenly, it faded into a plume of smoke right before my eyes and disappeared. <br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp; I was completely stunned, and was super confused. I was watching a cat one second and the next it turned into smoke. I remained totally silent and I didn&apos;t say anything to my brother next to me, because I was still processing it, and was wondering if I was going crazy, or if my eyes were just playing tricks on me. But then, out of nowhere my brother suddenly spoke up, and said, “Hey…did you–did you just see a cat running across the road, that um…faded away?” <br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp; And I was super relieved, and was like, “Oh good, you saw that too! I thought I was going crazy!”<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp; Turns out both of us saw the exact same thing: what was clearly a black cat running across the road and then suddenly fading into smoke and dissipating away. We still bring this up to each other and talk about it once in a while when we&apos;re driving along together somewhere. It was an odd and strange experience that I&apos;m glad we both got to experience together as it made for a cool talking topic.

  If you go hiking or exploring in the mountains of Western Maryland, you’ll often see abandoned houses, abandoned towns, and really creepy abandoned cemeteries.

  One thing that wasn&apos;t mentioned was the Silver Spring Monkeys. &nbsp;They were the test animals that sparked awareness and debate over cruelty to lab animals. &nbsp;It also made people aware of PETA (back before they were crazy).
