  Hiked the Appalachian trail back in 2016. A stranger approached my camp one night. I offered food and water and a fire to stay by at night. He turned it down. He just wanted to stay in the camp. Later that night, when he thought I was sleeping he went through my stuff and was about to come &quot;attack&quot; me with a knife. I pulled out my gun and said think again. I got him to drop the knife. Handed him cuffs to cuff himself. Then I tied him up and left him there the rest of the night while I slept. Woke up, cleaned my camp and left him there. After 3-4 hours I came back and picked him up and had him lead the way. His hands were still tied up behind his back and to his waist. We walked for 3-4 more days until we got to a small town in TN and I called the cops to come pick him up. Turns out he was suspected of murder in TN. <br><br>I remember he was really glad I didn&apos;t just leave him there to die alone in the woods. He was talking a lot of nonsense and regrets. The psychology of leaving him there to die alone really freaked him out good. The only worse thing to ever meet in the woods is another human. Most other animals will leave you alone.

  Currently sitting in bed in the middle of southern WV with my curtains open looking up into those deep, dark hills, and listening to these creepy tales. Love it.

  I had a feeling Uncle Lee was a bad guy and meant harm. He was the last to see his brother and he wanted to take his nephew to the middle of nowhere in the woods? I hope that guy is doing well. That&apos;s quite a trauma.

  Uncle Lee probably had a psychotic break due to the resemblance between father and son. He k*lled his brother,either on purpose or accidentally, and he conflated his nephew and brother due to the resemblance. &nbsp;He then, later on, felt the need to k*ll his nephew. His psyche would have demanded that he fixed what seemed to be wrong. He knew he k*lled his brother but was seeing him as alive in his son. He needed to resolve the issue to stop his mind from spiraling out of control. &nbsp;My own grandmother actually had a psychotic break and t*rtured me severely due to my eerie resemblance to her mother whom she hated. It&apos;s really messed up.

  That second story was very impressive. I appreciate these stories. I have an auto immune disorder that makes sleep challenging. You help a lot.
