  My daughter got married at age 38. I’ve been saving since she was a baby for college AND her wedding. I looked around when she got engaged. I gave her $40,000 USD and not a penny more! My daughter (in her frugal way) she said she found a small home on acreage and asked if she could use the $40,000 as a major down payment and have a casual wedding at their new home. I jumped for joy!! She and her fiancé lived in a used FEMA trailer while in college (which I’d already paid for) to pay the balance on that house and land. They now own a home on land and we had a great time. Each time I visit, I smile!

  I’m disabled and therefore live paycheck to paycheck. One of my friends invited me to her wedding. I definitely could not afford a wedding gift, so I told her that it didn’t feel right coming to the wedding if I can’t afford a gift that isn’t laughable. She responded: “girl, come eat and dance and have fun.” <br>At the end of the day, she just wanted to be surrounded by people that love her. I feel like that is the whole idea of weddings in the first place—celebrate the couple’s love with people who also love them

  Got married at the court house, spent less than $400. Got plain gold bands, went to the 1hr photo &amp; then Chinese Buffet! Been married 22 yrs!

  I got married at my local library. A lot of libraries have little event spaces you can rent for pretty low cost. I loved it.<br> Support your local library!

  I just want to say thank you, Kiki. Six weeks ago, I lost my beautiful 25-year-old son suddenly, and the grief is something I never imagined surviving. He used to watch your videos too—we’d sometimes laugh together at your energy, and now, when I watch you, it feels like he’s a little closer.   My Maid of Honor and BFF since kindergarten had just lost her job and I didn’t want her to stress about the expenses. &nbsp;I told all my bridesmaids “just wear a black dress”. I figured everyone already had a black dress and black shoes, so nothing new would HAVE to be purchased . I bought their jewelry and paid for manicures. A couple recent cosmetology school grads offered hair and makeup service at a steal of a price, which I covered.<br><br>My bach party: a relaxing day sitting around my MOH’s mom’s pool. We had sub sandwiches, margaritas and played music off Spotify. It was such a fun, low cost day.

  Kiki, you&apos;ve probably already addressed this but here&apos;s my suggestion. The companion to this video is the baby industry. We have the announcement event, gender reveal, babymoon trips, baby showers and probably many things I&apos;m unaware of since I&apos;m not too far from being considered and &quot;elderly&quot; person. Babies are expensive enough without adding unnecessary celebrations along the way.
