  Personally I see it as a rather practical decision.<br>Toby wanted to save the story he had for when he had the engine and talent to use it for, thus Undertale was born as a testing ground for developing a video game. It is unwise to make your magnum opus your first and only video game, as odds are you will not succeed your expectations.

  Wasn&apos;t Undertale a proof of concept that Toby can actually make a video game so he could make Deltarune in the future?<br>If that&apos;s the case he probably stopped working on Deltarune so he can make a better version when he&apos;s more experienced and has more people to work with

  Deltarune came from his fever dream.<br><br>Meanwhile I litterally (not kidding) had a short dream about The Roaring happening in our own real world by multi-fountaines being opened outside, after I had a seizure..<br><br> What a concept.
