  A subtle detail is that at the beginning, Grace teaches the human children about 'sound' (which we can't see), and finishes by teaching the Eridian children about 'light' (which they can't see). He's truly a good teacher!

  At the end... Taumoeba <b>leaks through</b> Xenonite and eats Astrophage. &nbsp;Since Rocky&apos;s entire ship is Xenonite, Taumoeba ate all of Rocky&apos;s Astrophage fuel.

  Context about Grace&apos;s biodome at the end.<br><br>The book has some more detail, but the entire Eridian civilization made that biodome for him because Grace saved their world. &nbsp;He is probably regarded as something like &apos;Alien Space Jesus&apos; and so they are probably willing to do quite a lot for Grace.

  Regarding the scene where Grace is “kidnapped”….we have the earlier scene where Stratt says that asking people to give up their lives for the mission is easy, in the scene where she forces him to go, she’s clearly having an hard time. Love the contrast and love whenever they humanize her. A really great performance.

  My fav detail of this movie is at the end where they are sitting on the beach on erid....and Rocky slowly shuffles over closer to grace...because he loves him and doesn&apos;t want him to leave. Small but powerful

  “How could he know what Grace is saying when Grace asks for his name?”<br><br>Their species has extraordinary pattern-recognition abilities. After only a few days of interacting with Grace, Rocky has already picked up the basics of English by identifying recurring sounds, words, and context. By the time Grace asks his name, he’s already built a foundational understanding of the language. The book goes more in depth if you ever wanted to read it. Lots of cool stuff in there about their race.

  My girlfriend and I broke up a couple months before I watched this movie. We reconnected a couple weeks before and then got in a big fight right before we were gonna go see this movie together because I found out she was talking to some other guy named Mark. I went to the movie alone in a horrible mood and the “Rocky hate mark” part made me laugh out loud in the theater and then cry. Was crazy timing

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cZc-3FigFI&amp;t=647">10:47</a> it&apos;s always funny to me that people get to this part and don&apos;t get why he&apos;s so excited. The prevalence of sci-fi shows with alien life practically everywhere you go has made us forget that...we have not actually found any kind of life that isn&apos;t on our own planet. Not a single thing. Not even bacteria. Finding even the tiniest alien organism...would be truly amazing in real life.
