I live on the 380 acres of bush behind mt glenrowan, on the top of the warbys. Neds sister used to store food and horses on my property at an old corral. It was used as a lookout, as it looks over lake mokoan one way, and to mt buffalo the other side. The Kelly's were some of the last survivors of the "already here" population. Or so ive been told. They wouldnt comply with the new narrative and were persecuted. Like alot of our ancestors who were chucked into asylums or prisons for also, not going along with the new british narrative. All our gaols, asylums, cathedrals, churches, farms were already here. Definitely not built by the british. Look at Melbourne, bendigo and ballarat for example. All 3 cities were supposedly constructed before we had glass, brick, steel and timber infrastructure. Impossible.
The Kelly family were unlawfully harassed.

It is a pity so many authors and documentaries fall into the 'doom train' theory assumption, as it has little foundation in historical evidence.
All there is are a few contemporary newspaper articles with 'supposed quotes' from Ned Kelly directly after the Glenrowan siege, when Dr Nicolson had declared him near death, and Father Gibney had given him last rites ...
In this one for example, a week after Glenrowan, while still in hospital recovery, the Telegraph, Monday 5 July 1880 states:
"NED KELLY’S SCHEME.
At the interview with Senior-constable Kelly the outlaw was at first communicative, but afterwards became obstinate and refused to continue; but, from some other remarks that fell from his lips, and from circumstances that subsequently transpired, there is no doubt that the gang intended to put on their armour, walk deliberately up to the train when it fell off the line, and every living soul that escaped from the ruins they would have shot like dogs, and left not one alive. By this means they could have got rid of the body of police from Benalla, and they would go to that place and stick up one of the banks there, as, cased in their bullet-proof armour, they could walk into a bank and take what they wanted. They could have gone to the police station and taken possession of it ; then, with the railway lines torn up, and the telegraph wires cut, they could have held the town for a week. It was always Ned Kelly’s ambition to stick up Benalla. When spoken to on the subject, he scowled fiercely. “Yes,” he said, “and if you had not sent up that pilot engine, and that —— schoolmaster had not given the train warning of danger, you would have been up a tree.”
This report is always edited by authors to only contain the section stating:
"...there is no doubt that the gang intended to put on their armour, walk deliberately up to the train when it fell off the line, and every living soul that escaped from the ruins they would have shot like dogs, and left not one alive." - they never quote this beginning section:
"At the interview with Senior-constable Kelly the outlaw was at first communicative, but afterwards became obstinate and refused to continue; but, from some other remarks that fell from his lips, and from circumstances that subsequently transpired, there is no doubt that the gang intended..."??? So what exactly 'fell from Ned Kelly 's lips' and what exactly did the reporter claim 'was intended'??? This whole narrative exposes the 'doom train' theory for what it is - just a mumble of words that the reporter claims were said!!! Hearsay is not conclusive evidence.
The most interesting part is:
"By this means they could have got rid of the body of police from Benalla, and they would go to that place and stick up one of the banks there, as, cased in their bullet-proof armour, they could walk into a bank and take what they wanted. They could have gone to the police station and taken possession of it ; then, with the railway lines torn up, and the telegraph wires cut, they could have held the town for a week."
There are elements inside 'that part' of the newspaper report that describe everything that the Gang had planned ... With the body of police removed (taken hostage) the Gang could commandeer the Special Train and rob the Banks of whatever towns they liked while protected in the customised Armour; then with the railway lines torn up and telegraph wires cut they could have held a town for a week ...

When Ned Kelly had recovered a month later, an interview was reported in the Weekly Times, Saturday 7 August 1880, in this article it stated:
"He asserted that he could have shot every policeman in the district had he so wished, as from time to time he had each of them covered with his rifle ; and also, that he could have shot Superintendent Nicolson and the whole of the Queensland black trackers one day, when near McVean’s homestead, near Greta, but refrained from doing so, and hid behind a log. He had, he further stated, gone to the police paddocks at Wangaratta and Benalla at night time on several occasions, and tried a number of the horses there, but found them to be nothing but a lot of scrubbers, and therefore not worth taking."

So if derailing and murdering the police was the purpose behind Glenrowan - why didn't the Kelly Gang kill the police at every other opportunity?
What the Kelly Gang had in mind for Glenrowan was clearly planned for months, as it was pivotal in the plans for something big - telegraph wires had been cut in various locations and warnings had been delivered to the police about derailing or blowing up rail lines on a Sunday many weeks beforehand - so Superintendent Hare and the Constabulary in Melbourne 'were very aware of the possibilities of a derailed rail line plan' ... Superintendent Hare was criticised in the Royal Commission 1881 for allowing civilians on the Train given his prior knowledge of a possible derailment plan - but Superintendent Hare was devious enough to send out the Pilot Train ahead, so as to find any derailed section - and it would alert the Special Train coming behind - so there was 'never' any real chance of a derailment.

So a derailment massacre of police was never the intention of Glenrowan; it was intended to be the 'threat' behind an operation to 'commandeer the Special Police Train' at Glenrowan Station midday Sunday, board the Train wearing the customised suits of Armour as shock troops, any of the Constabulary on board with loaded guns would deplete their ammunition upon the Armour, The Gang would take Superintendent Hare and the police hostage, use the two Skyrockets to rally the armed sympathisers into a guerrilla force to corral the police into the local Police Barracks and begin hostage negotiations for the release of the Kelly family and friends in gaol.
At this point, the rail would have been repaired, and the Special Train would then have been commandeered to take the Armoured Kelly Gang and other sympathisers possibly onto Wangaratta, Beechworth and Benalla to rob the Banks and blow up the police stations - all on the Sunday afternoon.
At Benalla the Gang would telegraph Melbourne about their police hostages, possibly blow up the rail line, then they would have ridden the police horses back to Glenrowan, and prepared a stockade for the Victorian and British Government's reprisals. The stolen money from the Banks would have paid the guerrilla army of sympathisers to began the fight for a North East Victorian constitutional democracy... calling it a 'republic' seems to offend some people, but a fight for independence and land law reform, many believe, was the goal behind Glenrowan...
Ned Kelly said as much about these plans himself in the Jerilderie letter: "It will pay Government to give those people who are suffering innocence justice and liberty. If not I will be compelled to show some colonial stratagem which will open the eyes of not only the Victorian police and inhabitants but also the whole British army"...

If Kelly had derailed the train at Glenrowan and shot dead the survivors as he openly stated he would, to the prisoners he held at Glenrowan, he would have been the worst mass murderer in Australian history until the Port Arthur massacre in 1996. There were 28 people on the train. 5 Aboriginal trackers, 5 newspaper reporters, 3 railway workers, 2 women and 13 policemen. The only reason it didn't happen was because of the courage of a schoolteacher, Thomas Curnow, who conned Kelly into letting him go to take his family home. He then warned the approaching train and prevented total carnage. I also note that the people of Victoria had the memorial at Mansfield for the 3 murdered at Stringybark erected. If one bothered to read the newspapers of the time you would not find anything positive about the gang.
