This guy is an expert. Agree 100%…my OA improved 100% after I started to gain strength on my glutes and around hips…Nowadays I jump rope and play basketball regularly. But I Will never stop to strength these muscles.

I rarely comment on videos. Will not watch without a 👍🏻 though.
Just as you described, I’ve bone on bone in both, left hip being worse. When I was told to come back when I’m ready for surgery to replace, I left with a headstrong desire to see how long I can deal without going under the knife. First I researched. A lot! Lost 25 pounds eating anti inflammatory foods and found you. THANK YOU! As a dance teacher for 40 years, I should know this. I can only shake my head and forgive myself for not practicing what I teach. Thank you so much!

I now understand exactly what I did to aggravate my hip. I walked, off and on, exactly the way you explained on the video I saw this morning: slightly slew footed and engaging the glute 25%. Almost all of my pain was gone by this afternoon. I cannot thank you enough. I’m going to do what you recommend, from this day forward. Thank you isn’t enough!!

I’m scheduled for a hip surgery consult in June. I cancelled replacement last year. I’m gong over these videos again as I feel I probably have muscle imbalances that are causing hip pain……

Oh my God that's me. I'm 65 and I was told I need hip surgery on both sides. I freaked out. I couldn't believe it and all I did was cry, I still cry because of the pain and because I don't want surgery. I was told it's due to my age and like you said, the doctors said it's the worst they've seen and want me to get surgery right away and get injections. My doctor sent to physical therapy, and a chiropractor and the pain got worst. I am beyond grateful I stumbled across your channel.🙏🏻 I can't wait to start doing everything you're saying ❤ thank you, from the bottom of my heart!!!

What annoys me is that none of the therapists that I've seen have explained this to me. If you've studied the body wouldn't it be logical that the glutes is the main thing to focus on. 🤦‍♀️ it's narrow mindedness. The book says this so that's what it is. Think outside the box for gods sake

I was diagnosed with bone on bone hip arthritis, on one side, when I was 27 (I have a connective tissue disorder). I was given no advice, just a walking stick and that I should try to put off surgery. Diagnosis in the other hip at 50. Despite some restricted lateral movement in both hips and occasional flare-ups, I’m still managing to live my life normally (and mostly pain-free) at 68, with no surgery. Now, I work to strengthen my glutes which has also helped. Thanks for your advice - I would probably have a greater range of movement if I’d been given it in my 20s.

Thank you, Dr. David! I'm working on my glutes. Thank goodness, they both still fire. My three younger siblings have all had hip replacement. I'm 73, and am going to listen to you!

After years of therapy, spinal surgery, and tons of PT I have found the help I need. I have not returned to my regular schedule for other activities such as yoga which is the one thing I don't want to give up completely.
My shoulders and back are a lot better but I continued to do the indicated exercises by the Doc. and it's amazing how much better I am doing and how much more I can do without pain. I think that I will be doing all the exercises for the rest of my life which is great because I add everything I'm learning to my daily routine.
No more jogging or walking long distances for me, but I'll take short walks and dancing classes.
I squeezed my glutes during these activities and throught the day, and I feel a huge difference in my back and knees. Next will be hips 😅 Thank you Doc. 😊😊😊😊
