Very accurate regarding Paddington hotels. They can be very cheap, but you get what you pay for - extremely small rooms stuck in a time warp. That said, they serve a purpose and are ideal if you're a young traveller on a budget. If, however, you're a 'grown up' with a little more disposable income and are used to more creature comforts, pay a little more and look elsewhere.

Helli, I really like your videos , especially for their quick pace and practical tips. The last time I visited London was about 20 years ago . Me and my daughter were on a course and lived in Eastborn . So, the visit to London was really short. Now I'm planning my own personal 7 days trip with my grandchildren. Unfortunately , the needs of my grandkids might be a bit different than mine. I guess they will prefer livinig in Soho or other lively areas . I'm dreaming of a historical butique hotel with unnique atmosphere, within a walking distance to the Thames , Westminster and parks as well as main streets and old pubs. I don' t mean Savoy or big hotels of that style , but smaller one , ideally with beautiful interiors. I' m planning to visit British Museum, Westminster Abbey , show the kids Trafalgar Square and the city. And then let them explore their favourite places of their own ( they are in their late teens) . My private intinerary should include some places of cultural importance . And here starts the problem. I' d like to see the houses of famous British writers , historical figures, Londoners of XIX and XX centuries. Soak the atmosphere of that London. Learn more. Despite all my searches there are not many guides on that topic . I' m also the fan of nature and water , which helps me relax after the day of sightseeing. Planning the trip I also need to take into an account my limitations and plan only one intense visit a day plus a theatre or a pub in the evening . Having all that in mind , what hotels and what places would you recommend to stay/ visit ? I'd really appreciate any advice . Regards, Magdalena
