Dispensationalism commonly teaches a prophetic framework involving a rapture, tribulation, millennium, and a continuing distinction between Israel and the Church. Lutheran teaching historically rejects that dispensational framework. That difference can completely change the way someone reads Israel, Revelation, Daniel, Matthew 24, Romans 11, the Kingdom of God, the millennium, and biblical prophecy. But this conversation goes much deeper than the END TIMES. What happens when Christians raised in modern evangelical culture encounter a form of Protestant Christianity deeply rooted in the Reformation, historic liturgy, sacraments, creeds, confessions, and centuries of Christian theological tradition? Are we recovering something Christianity lost? Or are we trading one theological system for another?
