I live on Oahu and am a 20 year Navy veteran. I visit the ship every couple of months, by myself and in silence. They deserve that much.

There is more than just 58 sailors on the U.S.S. Utah. There is a little girl also buried there. One of the sailor's daughter had passed away, they had her cremated and he was going to spread her ashes on the ocean the next time the ship was going out to sea. They couldn't retrieve her ashes, so she is still buried on the Utah, guarded by 58 of the navy's finest.

The forgotten memorial. I made sure to take people to the Utah when they came to visit when i lived there. I lived on Ford Island, the Arizona Memorial was my backyard. No one i had over was aware that Utah was there.

My connection with the battleship Arizona, although I was not alive at the time of the attack. I was a 16 inch gunnersmate on the battleship Missouri in the 1980's. In 1986 the Missouri deployed on a round the world cruise and first stop was Pearl Harbor. Manning the rails facing the Arizona and saluting her in dress whites sent chills down the spine. You could hear the crew of the Missouri thinking " You were avenged and this ship is where Japan had to bow and accept defeat."

Every time I visit the Arizona I visit the Utah. I live in Hawaii and am retired US military so I always make sure to visit one of the most ignored memorial sites in the US.

I grew up in Utah and my mother's family is from Utah. My sainted father was in the US Navy and I remember him talking about how the Navy was going to build a memorial for the USS Utah. Many years later, I travelled to Hawaii and I went to go see the USS Utah. At the time, I was a civilian contractor for the US military and I had a military ID card so my wife, my step-daughter, my step-daughter's husband (all who were foreign nationals) and I were able to drive onto Ford Island and drive right up to the Utah and spend time there. Like the video says, not many people visit the Utah, so it is very quiet.

I never knew of the USS Utah until I was stationed at Pearl Harbor. My submarine once docked on Ford Island right next to the USS Utah's wreck and memorial. We made sure to show our respect and gratitude as our submarine passed by USS Utah both times just as we honor USS Arizona when we pass it going to the submarine base.

I used to be a US Navy submariner. When I was on the USS Alabama, we had to go to Pearl Harbor once a year for torpedo certification. When we did, we were too long to tie up where the other submarines did - Trident submarines are 600' long.<br>We frequently tied up at Ranger pier, which is right next to the Utah Memorial. I saw it many times.

Was in the barracks on Ford Island for a time. Visited the site many times and said a little prayer.
