This winter I did a 4 week GPP phase and then 4 week hypertrophy block. This time around for my weighlifting and strength work I felt less pain and it was easier to improve upon my strength. Now I am looking forward to doing the same over the summer and it is nice because I can enjoy other activities and not feel like I am missing out on life!

Wish I could have accessed this kind of info years ago. I am fifty now, I have never stopped training since I was 16 but I have always trained too hard and too close to failure. I am away for two months in the summer and trying to decide which sandbag I should take with me. I normally get one to three reps for 10 to 5 sets with a 100kg atlas stone. ( singles rest a minute and reps rest 3mins) I am seriously considering getting an 80kg sand bag with me and doing front squats and stone lifts with it. 100kg stone is always at least 8 RPE for me. Maybe an 80kg sandbag for sets of 4-6 at 6-8 RPE would be a great way to maintain and prep for a couple of months.
