As a guitarist I know: what my amp sounds like, is totally different from what is useful in a mix.<br>No low end, plenty compression and EQing.... When you solo that guitar track it really sounds awful. But it sounds <i>great</i> in the mix.<br>Gilmour used this filtering in his live setup, too.

Great video. All true. Years ago, while in a studio, the engineer tweaked my amp and it was far too thin for metal. That wasn't my tone at all. BUT then, in the mix, it was awesome. Know your frequencies.

When I started playing in a band with a keyboard, playing keyboard driven songs I struggled with my guitar disappearing in the mix, and I had to learn to play in higher octaves and find my place in the mix, I didn’t know that I was doing what was discussed in this video.<br>This video is very helpful to people like me, it explains how to work with a keyboard next to you on stage.

The tremolo tailpiece springs on a Strat are a super early reflection reverb/ chorus. If you can tune it... It needs nothing more than a room full of air to sound good through a Twin.
