Named the "Diva De Tutti Dive" by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, meaning the first true diva of the modern pop era. Donna Summer was Pop Music's first female mega star selling millions world wide and pushing the boundaries by crossing into multiply genres. She is the first female artist and the first black artist to bring 3 albums to the top of the pop charts (Billboard 200) back to back. They just happened to be 3 multi-platinum selling double albums. A true trail blazer for all women in pop music. She kicked the door down for artists to build careers on dance music (especially women). This song is right smack in the middle of her hot streak were she scored 9 consecutive top 5 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 between July 78 - Oct 80. From November 25 1978 (when Mac Arthur Park was at it's 3rd week at #1 and November 24 1979, when this song took the top spot, she had 6 top 4 singles ( 4 #1s, 1 #2, #4). Please start with Last Dance, as that was the song that started Donna's hot streak on the charts (make sure to react to the single - as to get the full impact of what we had on the radio and in the clubs - their are many live versions of her singing the song). Donna was the first black female to be played in heavy rotation on MTV, (Aug 83) setting a precedent of having 3 consecutive videos placed in heavy rotation. Not surpassed until Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 89/90. Donna is the only artist to be nominated for a Grammy in 5 different genres at least 3 times each (rock, R&b, Pop, Gospel & Dance) and the only to win a Grammy in 4 different genres.

Enough is Enough and It‘s raining men were both written by Paul Jabara. Also Academy Award winning „Last Dance“ performed by Donna Summer is a Paul Jabara song.
