It's not every day you click on a video recommended to you to by YouTube to find it's about you lol. Thank you so much for the support and highlighting the importance of restoring nature in Ireland. You have really honoured me with the amount of work that went into this. Well done!

King Henry was responsible for a lot of it ….he needed the Oak for shipbuilding 😡…..Randal is a descendant of the same noble family of St.Oliver Plunkett….also I love the fact he removed the tennis court and replaced it with a pond for wildlife with wonderful results…you rock, Randal💪🏻👏🏻❤️

I have watched how this estate has evolved and delighted with everything. I have one acre and planted many native trees, allowing boundary hedges to grow and thicken up, now have blackcaps, seen lesser spotted woodpecker, long tail tits, willow warblers, white throat, swallows have their home made by us and two huge ponds with everything from bats skimming the water to great diving beetles, dragon flies and more 😀 it's thriving and people do think I'm mad, waste of land etc but I realise what has happened and seen species disappear in the last 30 years now my dawn chorus is so loud my neighbours complained, I'm still glad I've done this!

When I was a teenager and learned about ecological succession, I tried to convince my dad that if we never mowed our large lawn we would end up with a nice forested area. It didn't work, but it was a creative way to try to get out of trying to mow.

I'm doing very simular on 5 Ha in Donegal and getting trouble wit County Council. At the moment birds and frogs protecting me, because they came inbetween acoupe of weeks in such a large number, I did'nt ever expect. Ok I digged 4 very small ponds an buildet 11 deadwood hedges in a very short time...now birds are breeding tedpoles are developping and no one can remove me for now. I hope to convince the County Council at the end.

Rewilding begins with leaving the land alone. Don't start a plantation forest. A mixed forest at random is a healthy forest. Not. In rows. Forest will look after itself. The fauna will follow with the flora. Ricky Mc E

My new hero the Bramble, protects the seedlings and once the tree has grown big. It dies off so different foliage can have the space.
