1996-07 was amazing. No tiki taka, no two player monopoly for ballon do'r, amazing ads, iconic players with flair, no social media. Legend players passing the baton to youngsters.

Watching all those icons makes you nostalgic but then it builds to a 2010's era that was unreal...can't wait for the next episode

Even beckham's passes and long balls were crazy.
Beckham's haircuts were copied all around the world.
And his name was probably everywhere in the world. Crazy days.

Me and my buddies would play FIFA 07 religiously. Ronaldino, Adriano, chevchenko, lampard, eto'o, podolski, gerrard, drogba, among many others. Man those were the days and we had no idea.

I love the 90s, 00s and early 10s, it was magical to watch football in that period. I have my sons and their friends constantly watching matches from that era, Zidane, Ronaldinho, R9, Henry, young Ronaldo and Messi. They were watching Owen highlights and said how was he so fast, they were shocked. What stood out for me was what they said, why does it look better then and why was the matches more enjoyable. They also couldn't believe how many times players ran with the ball and took on players, which is a shame. They were also surprised just how many times you saw great long range goals and free kicks scored, which is a rare to see today. I suppose we took it for granted and just expected football to always be like this but I suppose you have to accept that peak era may never be replicated.
