  Fun Fact: Spokane is usually credited as the smallest city in N. America to maintain a full orchestra. Concerts are well attended too.

  Walt and Karen Worthy bought and restored The Davenport.  They retired and sold it a few years ago.

  When I was a little girl we lived in North Idaho and went to Spokane two or three times a year.  We would get tired and went and sat in the lobby of the Davenport to rest.  No one ever bothered us.  I still remember how grand it was.

  I live in north Idaho next to Spokane. The Davenport Hotel is open and it never looked better ! They have events there all the time and at Christmas it’s absolutely beautiful! Great food as well. The downtown area is also wonderful. Shopping is great as well as many other places.

  I moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1981 and really loved shopping and having fun in Spokane. Downtown was still really great but I always thought it was weird how many surface parking lots there were between buildings. This explains it pretty well. I live and own a business in Spokane now.  Downtown is a shell of what it was 45 years ago and the homeless situation is out of control. Such a shame. Still love living here.  The crime is what state and local politics are doing to make this place unsafe by incentivizing homelessness and how wasteful our tax money is being spent.

  I was born in Spokane &nbsp;1954. The town was busy, growing and in very good shape downtown. &nbsp;Bing Crosby museum at Gonzaga University. &nbsp;When the town was planning an Indian museum my sister and I were invited to view the collection that was stored. We were awestruck at all the beautiful clothes, weapons and baskets. It was an honor to see it. <br>Going back to Spokane after many years it was sad to see the condition it is now. <br>To me it was a big city

  I jave the original 9ft pool table fro. The davenpoet hotel. Been in the family since 1970s. I had it professionally redone and its amazing.

  The Davenport is extremely beautiful. &nbsp;And there are a lot of wonderful old buildings in downtown Spokane. &nbsp;The court house looks like a castle. &nbsp;Problems: &nbsp;you have to pay everywhere you park. &nbsp; There are street people everywhere. &nbsp; Kinda scary going downtown.
