That was a scary weekend. We sat in my backyard and watched as the smoke got bigger and closer. Myself and other family members houses were evacuated. Definitely never experienced something like that before.

It's amazing how one person can cause so much tragedy.

Ha ha the guy in charge of the water reservoirs in the 1800s sounds exactly like LA water, chief Janisse Quiñones, who burned down Pacific Palisades for exactly the same reasons – incompetence.

Grammatically, there is no "The" in Puget Sound.

It is unfortunate that Spokane went up in a blaze.
Though a lot of the destruction could have been prevented.

EVERY SINGLE YEAR...
The fire marshall tells folks to eliminate dry brush and dead trees from around homeowners properties. Remove trees that are taller than the distance from their home to the tree.
Those that have acreage.. build at least a 50ft fire break around the edge of their property.

Nobody Does any of these...

Before you bash me for being a keyboard basher...
I live in Spokane and have since 1985.

The fire destroyed a massive amount of property. It is the Left that have destroyed Spokane, and to a larger degree the entire state.

Chis Cox is correct, these were and are not wild fires and were not started by one individual nor do I believe the individual caught has the intelligence to orchestrate these major events. History repeats itself, a few years back "Camp Hope" street people actually advertised that they were going to "burn us down" after being evicted from the take over area. Fires (arson) followed. Perps were caught then and now. North Wood arson fire just weeks prior to the 5 mile, Sun Crest and Mead fires, all arson fires as well as 3 test runs just a week prior along hwy 206 just outside of Mead. Other examples as well as locals catching individuals with little recourse or media coverage. What was alarming to me is how quick our local leaders gave away command and control to the so called experts from California as well as the law firm who came in pre-arrest of the arsonist and began blaming Avista Corp for the fires. Same law firm who blamed and litigated against Inland Power over past fires. Same law firm who some have reported a past governor has ties to. Additionally was it a coincidence that Avista advertised and shut down power to certain power grids North of Spokane due to high winds however other areas were not shut off and why weren't there massive fires over the border in towns like Post Falls or Coeur D' Alene? Did Avista shut the power grid down there? I Suppose they didn't have the high winds....nice to see folks seeing what went down what follows will be interesting.

I went to Spokane back in 2009. That place was like being on the set of the Jeff Foxworthy Show. If it wasn't for Gpnzaga, there would be nothing there.

You expect us to believe that one person lighting a match did this kind of damage???
Have you considered comparing it to Lahaina or Paradice?

Also , what you should talk about is who owned the land that got burnt, which was Spokane County. It's not hard To tie together All the fires that happened were owned by spokane county, and the fires by market and Francis could not have been set by the same guy, They were too far apart, about 12 Miles apart, somebody else was involved. Now they just need to tie in whether it's a city officials or somebody else is to who orchestrated this whole event. I live in Spokane And it wasn't hard to sit back and figure it out as it was happening. My fiance and I both knew it was a setup as the fire Was happening. Just look into the land that got burnt, and who owns it where the fires happened. And look at the land now for the fires in recent previous years, that happened. It's already being slowly developed for more housing.

Spokane is horrible city. Washington state is a fallen state. There is no way the public servants who are paid to do nothing will help the victims. They can’t. They only help themselves and their family. Using tax cattle money. The police probably looted all the precious metals before allowing their subject to enter the territory
