I like him, but he isn't the top. There are far more informed/educated members out there. Jacob is popular because he can simplify things for a more lay audience.
Having said all that, you got smashed. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger mismatch.

This is why I like discussions more than debates. Nobody wins if all you're trying to do is win. No perspectives are fleshed out fully and the person who speaks the loudest, quickest, and most articulate usually gets the praise. But good thoughts from you and I hope this experience helps you flesh out your own POV more thoroughly.

20:34 My dear brother Cipriano, if you think there is an honest person that believes you won the debate, you are too full of pride

I saw the whole debate. Jacob ran circles around you.

Dude, saying your shirt is blue is not the same as saying Jesus was a divine human or divine mortal which is very complex statement. You are just choosing to be offended when you were completely dominated on this discussion.

I was hoping that your comments about the "dual nature" of Jesus would include a supporting argument for that belief. Instead it seems like you focused on Jacob's argument not being good. I really would like to be able to steel man the position of the dual natures. Is there any way you could explain that to me (ideally not appealing to mystery as the answer)?

I’m LDS and why do you consider him the #1 apologist? Travis Anderson is the godfather of LDS apologetics.

Not sure why you say Paul didn't mean what he said... I hear that a lot with Protestants when they don't have a good answer for what the scriptures clearly say. Just like baptisms for the dead. Because they don't practice it, they come up with an overly complicated response to what the scriptures clearly say and justify why it doesn't fit their beliefs. 45000+ different Christian denominations all teaching different doctrines of salvation from the same Bible. Clearly the Bible alone is not enough.

 A few things

1. Robert Boylan is probably the strongest LDS apologist, and I suspect Jacob would agree. Jacob is a far better communicator, but Robert’s intellect and depth of knowledge are S-tier. Travis is also extremely good, though less upbeat than Jacob. Jacob is easily top 10, and when you combine apologetics with communication, he may be the best. He’s exceptionally gifted at delivery.

2. On your first point about being children of God, I think you were talking past each other. Jacob was responding to another christian who told him some time ago that people aren’t children of God unless they’re saved first. If you believe all people are children of God, I think Jacob would happily acknowledge the agreement and move on. There’s no real disagreement there.

3. I’m pretty sure Jacob will respond to this video, so let’s see how that goes.

4. Who won? Winning a debate isn't about the truth. It’s about who makes and defends their arguments more effectively. By that standard, I think Jacob dominated the entire group. You guys didn’t seem prepared for his questions, and candidly, that format is very difficult to prepare for. It keeps the people responding on their heels. You have to be very experienced to handle that well. It doesn't mean I don't think you are intelligent, you clearly are, but that is a very difficult format to win.

5. You seem like a super cool guy. I appreciate the video. God bless you.

So you believe that being human is not incompatible with Godhood?
