  Gianmarco is so right that comedians should always question power and politicians instead of trying to be friends with them. The best comedians, and not just in the USA, have always been the ones who had some level of social commentary underlying the comedy. And it&apos;s not just when the comedian and the politician is on opposite sides. it has to be when they are on the same side as well, because there&apos;s always something in government that can be improved, and comedy is a great platform to bring those things into the spotlight in a digestible way. Otherwise it&apos;s just propaganda. So well said.

  Gianmarco&apos;s trans name joke was actually the clip that made me go looking for more of his comedy because the way it was structured told me that I could trust that he would approach something in a way that&apos;s funny but also respectful.

  For the record, Chappelle isn&apos;t someone who doesn&apos;t know trans people. He lives in Ohio, in Yellow Springs. One of my trans friends is there regularly; she&apos;s talked with him, explained this stuff. And he just... doesn&apos;t listen.
