  Interesting take, I always found it interesting how the cult is called the Illuminated when the parasite they worship literally cannot survive sunlight.

  I actually think Sadler's reintroduction in the warehouse, without any fan-fair or drama, was not an oversight or disservice, but meant by the writers to illustrate that he was not some deity or priest, and not some ever present evil force of nature; but instead that he was a charlatan, "pretender to the throne".  That his power came not from divinity, but from a house of cards built on a lie; like every cult leader before him, he was a bug masquerading as a god.

  In my opinion, the most terrifying thing about Saddler and his cult was that, despite the absurdity and scale of their goals, they were actually capable of achieving them.<br>Like, if they&apos;d sent Leon to Spain a couple of days late, the world would&apos;ve been fucked.

  One detail I love is that, when Saddler has his servants take his hood off, it’s framed to look as if he has extra arms taking off his hood, because his servants are basically extensions of him.

  The parasite seems much more terrifying than dying and being reanimated by the virus to me. The thought of some part of me still being alive and screaming for control while being a slave in my own body? Thats scary.

  I completely disagree about Saddler&apos;s in person introduction. The subdued entrance wasn&apos;t just him wandering. In fact, it&apos;s very appropriate given that the warehouse you&apos;re in contains many plaga in amber. He even says to both Leon and Ashley upon entering to prostrate themselves before the plagas because of how holy he sees them as. The writers were showing Saddler off in the most terrifying way. He wasn&apos;t just some insane megalomaniac with world domination on the mind. He presented himself as a stern yet humble priest, completely unbothered by how far the pair have gotten. It communicates one thing and one thing only: they aren&apos;t a problem and never have been the moment they were infected. That sort of quiet confidence is felt by the player and showing just how helpless Leon and Ashley were reinforces this very idea. I see this interaction as the writers creating a sort of silent horror to Saddler. He doesn&apos;t need to be loud, bombastic or outwardly threatening to solidify his role as the big bad. The subtlety and nonchalant vibe of the whole interaction speaks volumes as to how fr above Saddler is compared to our heroes at that moment. He is indeed a god and Leon and Ashley were just as he said, lost lambs

  I love this new Leon. OG Leon is a nonchalant chad with the charm of a campy action hero. New Leon, while having sprinkles of that campiness still, is basically the embodiment of Frank Castle&apos;s Punisher. Instead of letting any of the villains monologue away like it&apos;s out of an anime (as it felt in 2005), new Leon will quickly dome that villain with a gun before that villain tries anything. I laughed hard when Leon DGAF and shoots Salazar in their final confrontation and does the same thing when he finally meets Saddler in the flesh.

  His line about sinners being those most in need of forgiveness is something that gets to me.<br><br>So often you see religious nut jobs in popular media who use their belief as an excuse to do whatever evil bullshit they want. <br><br>Now, Saddler does do that too, don&apos;t get me wrong. But there are <b>very few</b> religious villains who are willing to forgive the protagonist. It just continues to hammer in the idea that Saddler truly believes what he preaches.

  I find it funny that if Leon explained las plagas to Hunnigan, Saddler&apos;s plan would never work. Even if Leon died and Ashley was fully turned and then returned to the US, they would know that Ashley could be compromised
