  Comfort height toilets put your body at the wrong angle for emptying your bowels properly. If you are elderly, disabled, or otherwise weak or compromised, you could get a taller toilet along with a toilet stool to bring your legs more up to a squat when needed, but if you have reasonable muscle mass and agility, the angle of the standard toilet is a considerably healthier angle, and the squatting down several times a day helps maintain muscle mass, especially in more sedentary folks.

  Bathtub upgrades depend a great deal on if you are tub people or just shower people. My husband and I paid $3000 for our standing solid surface tub and I think $550 for an ultra fast tub filler. Bath is ready in 5 minutes, and we use it every day. Definitively a worthwhile upgrade for us. And we indeed passed on the double sink, as we get ready at different times, plus we have another bathroom with sink ten steps away if desperate. More counter space and less to clean for me. We're aware of it affecting resale, but we are more concerned with being happy in our space.

  Uplighting is always more flattering than down lighting. My light bar is designed for up lighting.

  Most of the time, where you see double sinks, one of the sinks actually holds a melange of hair implements: blow dryer, brush, curling wand etc. 2 sinks just rob you of counter space.

  Don't like free standing baths I feel when water splashes over the sides its harder to have mop out after usage

  for tile shower floor, the only choice IS the mosaic due to need to reduce slipping, the 2 inch hexagon is perfect, but the penny tile is too much grout!  And the cuts required for the large format tile on a shower floor are butt-ugly (plus don't reduce slipping) and VERY prone to cracking at the narrower points.  Worst option are those one-piece numbers with a texure which really does nothing to reduce slipping.

  So many issues with this video. I work for a contractor. Free standing tubs can have showers. I have one. It has a wall mounted filler & shower head. The shower curtain is on an oval curtain rod. The acrylic tub itself was $450 (yes, it was on sale). We've installed many sconces next to mirrors. It's not expensive. My sconces are gorgeous & came from Wayfair. They were $150/pair. As for double sinks, most people never use both sinks. When people really want a second sink, I always suggest a second vanity. I really dislike tile shower pans. I always suggest an enamel over steel shower pan. They are easy to clean & last forever. If the client wants a low threshold,  composite shower pans are the best choice. Medicine should not be kept in a medicine cabinet. Warmth & steam are bad for most medicine. If possible, a separate linen cabinet is a much better choice. There's plenty of room for towels, tp, etc. There are 2 things I think people don't think about (1) wall mounted toilets & (2) wall mounted vanities. They make the bathroom so much easier to clean & give the illusion of space. An extra I always suggest is a floor drain. It virtually eliminates the problem of tub/shower overflow.

  We have always had a double sink vanity &nbsp;but I can count on one hand how many times in 20 years my husband and I have ever been in the bathroom at the sink at the same time. &nbsp;<br>Free standing tubs are extremely dangerous, the least thought out feature..God forbid your foot slips with one foot in and one foot out..OUCH!!!

  Completely agree with the return of medicine cabinets! We didn’t know how much we missed them over the years until we bought a house that had them, game changer!

  Important to think about the electric supply to the home. &nbsp;Electricity where I live flicks on and off a few times a day and several times in winter , there is no electricity at all for two full days. &nbsp;Most homeowners think-&apos; O well, just like camping&apos;. &nbsp;And you want to live in a rural area where the view is heavenly. &nbsp;Red Alert! &nbsp;You need to consider this when choosing controls for heaters, lights and fixtures. I put in a heated bathroom floor and convection heaters controlled by a computerized &nbsp;temperature on/off heat level switch. &nbsp;Would work well in an area with steady, consistent electricity and no black outs. After a winter of electric fluctuations, all the control mechanisms had been burned out when the electricity came back on. &nbsp; Welcome to heating units with no control. &nbsp;Worthless. Expensive mistake. &nbsp;Better use of funds to have a control mechanism that you manually turn off and on. &nbsp;Also watch out for expensive jacuzzi power jets built into a tub. &nbsp;When you are not using the power jets the &nbsp;tubing under the tub or floor has standing water in the tubing. &nbsp;It gets molds and fungi you can&apos;t get out. My general contractor said many high end bath remodels were taking out the fancy jet bath tub and replacing it with a plain soaker tub because of mold. &nbsp;This is an issue in damp areas like &nbsp;the Pacific NW and Florida. Keep it simple

  My sister bought an old house on Capitol Hill in Washington DC with a claw foot tub. &nbsp;She loved that tub, but my elderly aunt went to visit and fell against the side of the tub breaking ribs when she tried to get out of it. &nbsp;My sister had to haul her out of it.
