I found the problem with my Surly Fatbike

  I picked up a pugs 4 years ago with similar problems.  I upgraded the wheel set, cockpit, and replaced the brake pads and cables.  Now it is my primary MTB and I race it successfully.  These og surlys are so good and they last forever.

  My Nates are incredibly hard to get off and on.  I dread having to do it.  If it's cold, forget about it.

  The balls in my XT rear wheel from 2016 actually bursted. Luckily, the bearing cups in the hub were still in very good condition and only had minimal damage. After I got new cones and new balls, the bearing was like new again. But I&apos;ve also had some experiences with sealed industrial bearings. First, the cheap DTS-Swiss hubs had so much play that you had to press some aluminum foil between the outer casing of the sealed bearing and the hub. And I put my cheap Novatech bearings under a lot of stress, so they wore out quickly. The new bearings did have a little play, but the moment they were compressed from the outside by the hub housing and pushed apart from the inside by the axle, they actually fit, so there was even a slight preload.

  Alot of the newer fat tires aren&apos;t round, I think they were made alot better 5,10 years ago. Back when the &nbsp;tires said 15psi max on the side wall. I haven&apos;t seen a perfectly round fat tire in a while.

  Jeremy I finally got a MTB, first one. Rode BMX in HS. Keep all the great videos up but these bike updates feel special. My best to the family.

  Snap. I have the same bike but with Hope hubs, brakes and drivetrain. Still have the heavy Bud and Lou tyres on it though.

  i have read that pros use really thin grease or oil to lubricate in the winter,to prevent stiffness in the movement, i will have to try this next winter.
