The slow, deliberate movement of your camera...steady panning, in and around ...makes your video easy to watch.!! Calming in a way.... It also matches your demeanor and delivery. Very well put-togerther.. I do use the information and enjoy growing!!

I grew a Pattypan where my compost used to be and it got as big as a Volkswagen 😅 Thank you for reminding us to add organic matter!

Where I grew up, there was an orchardist at the end of our road who had peach trees. He used to plant Hubbard squashes that grew to huge sizes among the trees, and he'd go out and break them open with a spade for the deer to eat. They loved the sweet veggies and left his peach trees alone.

A few years ago, I had a volunteer butternut in my compost heap and it grew 3m up a fir tree!

I got tired of squash borers in my yellow squash and zucchini about 5 years ago, and experimented with some alternatives. I am happy to say I stumbled on 2 on your list (Patty Pan and Waltham Butternut) and have been extremely pleased. The third I found was Tromboncino, amazing. I grow it on a trellis, picking the young fruits as summer squash. Near the end of the season I let some grow to full size and wait for them to dry on the vine. Hugely prolific, tasty in summer, and properly cured squash will last 6 mos on my countertop. This is a beast; it grows quickly and it likes to travel along the ground if it can, so beware. I have had zero squash borer problems and little mildew with this variety.

Violina Rugosa is a very large Waltham. If I knew more about cooking Patti Pans I might try them. Can’t wait to sow round zuchini this year. <br>😂So many squashes, pumpkins, melons—where to plant? 🤯😂

Spent many years at Bentley College which is across the road from the Waltham Field Station of the University of Massachusetts extension program. For years I jogged by their lovely fields. Waltham squash are very popular in New England.

Acorn squashes are one of my favourites, I grow a variety called Honey Bear F1 and it grows about the same size as a courgette and gives lovely sweet fruit that can be picked a bit earlier than other squash or left and stored as well
