This reminds me of a time I needed an instrument voltage regulator. Yes, a long time ago. My big city dealer told me they had to remove the dash to get to it and they would need the car for a couple of days. As it happens, the next week I was working in a small town that had a dealer right down the street. They said they could get it done that day. When I went back to get my car, the presented me a bill for about $35. I told them I thought they had to remove the dash. They told me the book says that but you can just reach up and grab it if you were limber enough. The part was about $20 and they thought $15 was enough for labor. What great people!

Mr. O, I used to think that if I could do it, you can. But I've come to realize that everyone is born with a talent, a "gift" if you will. Some can sing, some can play musical instruments and some can draw, for instance. I can do none of those things, but I can figure out how mechanical things work. I know how a transistor works. I know how a computer works. Not many people have the diagnostic skills that you and I have. I'll say you are one of the best at what you do. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and techniques with everyone.

Sir, we watched your video and without taking the steering column out, following your steps, we successfully replaced the Mode Door Actuator on our 2016 Ford Fusion. I'm pretty sure we saved well over $1200 by doing it ourselves. Took us about 2.5 hours all told. Finger ratchet worked for us to get the bolts off of the actuator. To paraphrase you, "if we can do it, ANYONE can do it." It may be daunting at first but the will to succeed rules. Again, thank you so much, your videos rock. P.S.: we used a Motorcraft part and loved your Van Halen joke about the Dorman part you used in the video. Beers afterward and "Panama" on the stereo in celebration!

I miss the 'Good Old Days' when there was a cable going to the dash w/a toggle lever to control the doors. ❤

What makes Eric a killer mechanic is not his mechanical knowledge and all-around skills. It is an enormous amount of patience.

9:30 Channeling your inner Speedkar99, eh Mr. O?

Since you entertained us with some dad jokes, I'll pay ya back with one. My car was in a fender bender last week, this week took it to the best body shop in town, Dr. Nick's Collision Shoppe. When i got there I asked Nick why they call him "Dr. Nick". He said it's because he's a "dent-ist" 🤣

Thanks! Just a BIG thanks for all the things I have learned from your channel... The braided ground cable was an easy fix on my 04 Silverado because you mentioned it so many times.. I really did not need the hassle of getting someone to fix it....

Comment: thank you for addressing this issue, you are the only channel on YouTube that did this in-depth repair. You made it look easy. Did you have to visit your chiropractor after doing this job, lol.
