  Not everyone can physically help out in an emergency. I imagine many people lie just for the leg room, assuming it won't happen. If you don't have the mobility or calm demeanor to stay calm good for you being honest. That woman deserves zero shame.

  For the peanut allergy: You need to inform the airlines 24 hours in advanced of any airborne allergies. It's in their ADA guidelines. If she mentions it on the plane, it's too late. Anyone who has flown with allergies can tell you this.

  I got accused of &quot;saving seats&quot; on the way back from Austria. The truth was that my insurance company had paid for 3 seats because I had a full-length splint on my leg after a skiing accident and couldn&apos;t bend my knee. I politely explained and she still kicked up a stink. I thought she was actually going to sit on my injured leg at one point. Fortunately the flight attendant came to my rescue and moved her on. The flight was only half full so I don&apos;t know why she was complaining. Amazing how much some people like drama.

  I have severe anxiety and even panic when I fly, so usually I say no to sitting at the emergency row because no one will want me at the emergency row if anything happens.

  Sometimes the air pressure changes can hurt a child&apos;s ears, and they don&apos;t know how to tell you their ears hurt

  I also say no to the emergency seat. I have severe flight anxiety and cry during turbulence. I would be less that useless at helping people in an emergency

  People forget about the ABLE part of willing and able to help in an emergency. &nbsp;Not all disabilities are visible. Someone else may have bought her ticket
