2012 graduate
I was part of the 2011 and 2012 varsity (neva lost an IVL game SIN RASPAR)
the up downs the 5 to 8 miles running then hitting the sprints after man we where crazy huh but anything to look good on those jerseys and on the adidas tiro pants and sweater
I remember Bernal bringing in his marine friends for workouts on conditioning week
also winning the penalties against the whole team and grab the ball and kick it as far as you could and the whole team doing ducks
That game we beat central 3-0 he told us “this is your World Cup” man we ran through them
That year we lost a SD tournament final but I remember till this date teams up there where huge but Bernal said we got to “bitch slap” this teams and yeah we did bitch slap them by scoring early goals
Favorite memory was when he told me
“Tarzan you a super star in Mexicali do the same here” there I go diving getting a penalty against San Pasqual
and even after many years when November comes and I see the goals at the high school field my skin still gets goosebumps maybe I miss it maybe is a trauma I still have falling on my head when the keeper made me a penalty and they didn’t called it but o boy we would all give anything to play again.

Un buen formador o responsable no retiene talento por control, sino que lo impulsa a crecer, incluso si eso significa salir de su zona o del propio equipo. El objetivo no debería ser “tener al jugador”, sino ayudarlo a convertirse en su mejor versión.
