Is the Indian Constitution Truly Indian? Ft. Jt. B. Sudershan Reddy

In this profound and wide-ranging conversation, Justice Sudarsan Reddy explores the philosophical, historical, and ethical foundations of the Indian Constitution. Moving beyond mere legal text, the Justice interprets the Constitution as a "way of life" and a "political community" that transformed Indians from "subjects" of a Crown into "citizens" with inherent dignity. He delves into the visionary contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Jawaharlal Nehru, the inclusion of Founding Mothers, and the critical warning against "Bhakti in politics". The episode offers a masterclass in how ancient concepts like Dharma and Fraternity intersect with modern democracy to provide an antidote to hatred and authoritarianism in the 21st century.
