  In fairness to the DK cartoon; it was made in the 90&apos;s when all CGI cartoons were still in it&apos;s infancy. &nbsp;Hence why it&apos;s a little rough looking.

  Fun fact: Princess Peach was actually considered as an opponent for <i>Punch-Out!!</i> on the Wii during development.<br><br>Producer Kensue Tanabe revealed in an interview that she was dropped because, &quot;...the thought of punching women out made me give up my idea.&quot;<br><br>Also Mario was planned to be the ref again but the dev team thought his appearance wouldn&apos;t fit with the cel-shaded cartoony art-style.

  Since you brought it up lot of the boxers in the pre-Wii Punch-Out games are actually headswaps of one another as a means of saving memory. Like Heike Kagero uses the same body type as Dragon Chan, same for Bear Hugger and Mad Clown.

  For the knees, modern boxing evolved from a state where there was limited grappling allowed, you could have a second boxer to switch for the main boxer, rounds lasted until somebody went down, and the count was to 30 instead of 10. The knees are part of both that heritage and also part of determining low blows.<br><br>Also, two arcade games, one NES game, one SNES game, and a Wii game.

In fact one of the big bads of the lore is a dragon using power from whole color wheel spectrum. So that&apos;s kinda why you find dragons all over the place.
