Regarding the mega retcon, considering that painful mega evolution was itself a retcon that contradicted X and Y, it’s pretty easy to form a solid head cannon. Rogue Mega Evolutions without a trainer are painful. Scientific mega evolutions done solely for research and dex entries are painful. Trusted trainers using it makes it not painful.

I think it's actually fun to see people actually embrace having fun and sharing a love of pokemon. Compared to before the bullying of just enjoying something.

Like me and my mom and aunts bond over pokemon. And it's fun to just run into people and geek out on our favorites.

1:07:44 the story is that a kid saw one of the Pokédex entries say that Lapras was going extinct so he sent a letter or email or something to Nintendo or something saying he spent all his time breeding and releasing them so the next game said that they weren’t going extinct anymore

Also they state in multiple games that say Mega evolutions don't hurt trainer pokemon because the strain is shared due to the key stone, and because of the bond

Pikachu was the reason for the epilepsy episode, But Pikachu is the the mascot so they threw Porygon under the bus.

It’s shown in the anime, Mega Evolution causing pain is caused by Rouge Mega Evolution. This is confirmed by Legends ZA, and it was shown in the anime with Korrina’s Lucario and Sycamore’s Garchomp, both of which hurt themselves while mega evolving until their trainers were able to bond with them.

But Kip, all multi hit moves in ZA hit the maximum amount of times, so Mega Heracross does essentially have Skill Link in the game.

Honestly, multi hit moves in ZA are just really good in general, at least in single player
